today, slept ok, but woke feeling very tired and have been so all day.
Home library lady came to day, we can order books and will get them once a month delivered to the house. Still waiting to hear about someone to sit with DB.
Friend came to see DB this afternoon, so nice to see a different face for an hour or so, DB had a snoozer after they had gone.
Mince, tatties, calabrease and carrot for supper tonight.
The Ambulance attendant who came to Edwin yesterday was rude, overbearing and intent on sending DB to hospital which he did not want. However......I allowed him to go, I believed he needed an xray of his chest to rule out any infection. She constantly talked over my concerns, she was not interested. The second attendant was more in tune with what was needed, I only hope she did what she said she was going to do. To say I was upset was putting it mildly........complaint on its way. I was so shattered I went to bed at 8pm and managed to sleep for almost 8 hours, which just proves constantly listening for DB or the phone has become a habit which is going to be very difficult to change
I woke this morning to a message saying they had wanted to send him home at 4am, but could not get me to answer the phone.......If I turn on my right side I am completely deaf in my left ear, would have been horrified at them sending him home.
He arrived just after 9am, he had nothing to eat apart from a piece of cake and the chest XRay showed no infection, they say he has a viral infection........so we wait to see what happens next. At the moment he is asleep, which I guess will be the p[attern of the day as he had no sleep last night.
Its one of those fine autumn mornings, sunny but chilly, I have clothes drying on the airer with the bedroom window open, that room gets the sun first, so hopefully they will be dry later.
It will be chicken tonight, I had some of it last night there is enough left for 2 meals and possibly sandwiches.
we are back in hospital again, the cough is due to a chest infection which has hopefully NOT turned to pneumonia!!
So we are back to visiting etc for a few days, they are going to give him intravenous antibiotics.
I was not impressed with the ambulance attendant, she was very bitchy and overbearing, would not allow me to speak and then rubbished what I was saying..........I almost bit my tongue trying not to let fly at her.
last night DB coughed for 2 periods once for over an hour and secondly for 3/4 of an hour. I had propped him upright with all the pillows on the bed except one, eventually he fell asleep. I managed just over 2 hours, the worst night so far. Needless to say he has slept for most of the morning in his chair. I had to force myself to get up.
Did not get dressed until lunchtime and have had about an hours doze this afternoon. I have no idea where these coughing fits come from or why they last so long.......will be contacting the Drs on Monday morning.
So nothing done today except prepare meals...... I hope we do not have a re-run tonight..............
first cold I have had for years and it has floored me, still sneezing fit to bust, taking paracetamol every 4 hours and decongestant for my nose, I have bags the size of suitcases under my eyes and my head feel like lead. Sleep.... forget it..............
DB is his usual moaning self, its great when he is asleep I get a rest from 'do this, do that'.
Have salmon to cook for supper with new potatoes and peas.
Stared sneezing yesterday, it has eased off this afternoon, but I am really bunged up. I have a spray to allow me to breathe, I will be using it when I go to bed, along with paracetamol and a toddy. Whisky, lemon, sugar and hot water........hopefully it will put me to sleep. Last night was a disaster, just over 4 hours. Have had to send out a round Robin, no visitors, and carers have to wear masks.
DB has had the usual itsy bittsy day, he slept for a while this morning.
I have booked my transport for my pacemaker check, also spoke to the Drs, waiting for a referral for the folding bed rails. I have an appointment to see about my osteo medication, I pointed out, I am housebound, will see what happens.
Supper tonight, steak casserole, potato and cauliflower, DB also had a yogurt, I had a ripe pear.
Let's see what tomorrow brings.........
Morning. DB got up OK and apart from driving me nuts asking me to do things re his laptop........argggggg, he has been OK.
Cooking beef stew possibly for Thursday. Cornbeef stovies for supper tonight, hope I have another onion, otherwise he will have to have a spanish onion chopped up in it.
Bright day, hopefully will get the bulbs in, will bury them a bit deeper.
Almost finished the bookmarks, just one to go after the 4 on the machine have finished sewing, I can soak the stabiliser off and block them into shape.
Wonders will never cease, 6+ hours last night, but seem to have picked up a cold sneezing fit to bust.
So supper tonight is stories with brown sauce.
DB had a bad morning, dizzy, so spent a while asleep, I am trying to get him to walk three or four times a day, and also do his exercises........he is reluctant.
Cleaner here, usual great job, she also took the vacuum to bits and washed the filters etc. Once they are dry I need to put it back together ready for the next time. DD2,DGD and GGS came at lunch time. DB had a bowl of scotch broth and bread and butter at lunch time. I managed to stick the soup to the bottom of the pan. Washing soda and washing up liquid soon sorted it.
I spent a while cleaning DR'S left ear, it had not been done whilst he was in hospital, so a lot of dry skin floating about. I am looking for a barber to come and trim his beard and also take a couple of months hear growth off. No success so far.
I seem to be averaging 5 hours sleep a night. How long I can keep it up I do not know.
I have done 7 bookmarks, have the big machine up and running at last.........just 3 more to do and then soak them.
DB is watching the snooker till he goes through to bed around 9pm.
Supper, sausage mash and baked beans.
I am getting so fed up with not sleeping, I know its going to catch up with me at some point.
The morning did not start well, DB managed to pass out, why I do not know, the carer and I got him into his chair in the sitting room. Decisions are no longer on the distant horizen they are coming closer. He is getting too much for me to manage. I am going to have to do some decision making in the near future.
Fine day, sun out and blue sky, rain forecast for later, its a real early autumn day.
Supper tonight gammon, cauli, calebrese and new potatoes with cheese sauce.
DB arrived home at 2pm, exhausted, he has been sent hone with a cough and runny nose.......hardly ate any supper, what was the point in me cooking , when it ended up in the bin.
He was in bed by 8pm. Did watch a bit of TV, then proceeded to cough until the early hours.
He woke me at 6.30 sweating his nightwear was ringing wet. Ended up changing his clothes and sponging him down, did take his temperature but it was normal.
He did settle down to sleep for a while, me? Wide awake.
Carer came and got him up, he had his breakfast and then slept until lunchtime, lentil soup and soda bread and he was asleep again until around 4pm. Carer came, ready for bed. Corned beef salad for supper, ate it all plus a nectarine and ice cream.
In bed by 7.30pm and asleep again. I managed just overce hours last night, did have a manage nap during the afternoon. Here's to tomorrow, hope it's a better day!!!
DB is due home sometime after lunch. I managed to get to Aldi and the library this morning.
Another okish night, 5 hours seems to be the limit so far, we will see what happens.
Had a fraught afternoon embroidering, I have managed 4 book marks, I will be glad to get the Lumi up on the desk I just hope it does not sulk because I have not used it for so long!!
Dry but windy day, keeps clouding over, but so far no rain.
Supper tonight fish with mash and peas with parsley sauce. DB can have ice cream if he wants it.
Off to prepare for DB's arrival.
Arrived before 10am, so all except the headboard is on and the bed made up. I did have to move one chest over to the other side next to a shelf unit. I still have some stuff to clear, but that will get moved later. I am shattered right now.

No idea what time DB will get home tomorrow. I will get up early and go for the few bits of shopping I need and also to the library, was going to go today, then remembered the library is closed!!

woke to heavy rain hitting the windows.....up showered and had breakfast, on my way to Hose for the coffee morning. Not many people there and B headed off to Doncaster. I took the preserving pan over for them to use at the harvest festival to display fruit etc.
Rosalind asked me to make 10 bookmarks, she wants white and the lily pattern, need to get the big machine up, all the designs etc are on there.
It was not raining so hard when I headed home, very grey skies and sporadic rain.
No real plans for this afternoon or what to have for supper. I need to clear the fridge out and wash it out, might do that after I have had some lunch.
DB's physio is ringing me after lunch, I may know more about him coming home then.
he was looking very bright, waiting for his lunch. The physio has been this morning, they are looking at him coming home at the weekend, so rang his carers, I will let them know when we are absolutly sure he is coming. I went another way today guided by the GPS, straightforward journey 32 miles there and back and very little traffic.
Called in to Morrison to get some fish and extra fruit......managed to spend over £30!! although I did buy a parlsey plant and a minautre orchid for the kitchen window cill.
Very little sleep last night, hope to have a better night tonight. Not sure what I am going to have for my supper......need to sort something out.

Plans for today, up to the tip with some rubbish, want to finish unpacking the two crates of sewing stuff and get the room hoovered ready for the bed. It will all go up on the cube shelves eventually when they are put together. Might also go to the library. I need to sort my flu and covid jab as well before DB comes home.
No visit today, will go in tomorrow morning. He was okish yesterday, physios in this morning.......
I had a shower and did the glass doors with vykal, will get cleaner Clare to have another go when she comes next week. I need to get as much rest as I can over the next few days, depends on when they decide DB is fit to come home.
Not decided whats for supper tonight yet. I have a chicken pie I might do some veg with it, will see how I feel later. I think a full pie might be too much, possibly when DB is home we will have half each.
Not such a good night, I watched the last night of the proms then read for a while, could not settle for some reason. Having a quiet day, no messing in the sewing room. It can wait till tomorrow.
Went into town and bit early, needed some soda crystals from savers, also picked up some imperial leather soap. I always take soap out of the wrapper and store it in drawers, it hardens up and lasts longer. My grandmother always used to do it.
Met DD2 at The Harbro for lunch,we both had roast beef, my goodness it was good. Cooked just the way I like it, yummy. No dessert, too full. The restaurant manager remarked she had not seen us for a while, gave her a synopsis of what has been going on, she sent her regards to DB, will tell him when I go in on Monday.
Heard from DB this morning apparently he had a vacant moment this morning, but was up for lunch. He is not happy with the food, says its horrible, said the soup was like water.
Think supper will be cheese and biscuits.
concerted attack on the sewing room/bedroom, have the small machine up on the table, its just bits and bobs to go on the shelf unit I have, it needs assembling, have a couple of jobs for the handyman when he can call. Lots of stuff either thrown out or to the charity shop.
DB was ok yesterday, he has pulled a muscle in his chest coughing.....I am going in to see him this morning. I am expecting him to be home late next week.
Better night last night 8+ hours in bits, kept waking up for some reason. Right knee is painful, so cream on, its not bad enough for painkillers which I dropped off gradually over 10 days.
No idea what I am going to have for supper, I finished the beef burgers yesterday at lunchtime, just had biscuits and cheese for supper. I bought Brie in Aldi the other day, I love it.........
DB was transferred last night to the rehab unit at LGH. Further for me to go but I will go every 2 days, first visit Tomorrow.
I went to see him yesterday, he was sitting out, had walked to the toilet and was looking a lot better although he is still coughing.
They are coming to collect the rest of the boxes today, I also have a unit to sit on the large sewing table being delivered. I will need help putting it together, my hands no longer take kindly to putting screws in.
I still have a lot of clearing to do, I ordered the bed yesterday, its an ottoman bed, so I can store my quilts in the bottom.
The weather was unpredicatable yesterday on the way home I called at Aldi to pick up a couple of things, between the car and the shop I got soaked........they were huge raindrops, thankfully it had blown over by the time I got out. It proceeded to chuck it down again just as I was going to bed.
I had curry last night, will have the fish fingers tonight.
2 decents nights sleep, 7+ yesterday and 8+ today....about time too.
Yesterday was a day of 'whats going on' I got a message to say that DB was fit to leave hospital, despite being on antibiotics for a chest infection, the result of a cold and not being able to get out of bed. He had also lost a library book, which I have tracked down this morning its at Oakham. Someone is reading it, once they have finished they will post it on to me.
Eventually last night I managed to get DB's nurse who told me he is again waiting for a rehab bed!! Fed up with being messed about and not seeing a Dr. I am going in before lunch today.
They are collecting the boxes tomorrow, so I can at last get the bedroom sorted properly and order the bed. It is an ottoman bed, so I can store bed linen etc in the bottom, it will also have my quilts in it.
No idea re supper, DD2 brought fish fingers yesterday so may do some new potatoes and either sweet corn or peas with the,.
Busy day, more unpacking in the morning, off to see DB after lunch, was lucky saw someone going for a disabled space to leave, so nipped round. DB was awake and talking different from Sunday, whilst I was there they moved him to a different ward, 2 floors down and nearer thr exit. Actually overstayed so had to drive home through heavy traffic, over an hour to get back.
Better nights sleep just over 7 hours........
I have unpacked all the boxes, now have to decide what goes where and also need to allow room for a single bed and get my machines up on the table. I did manage to kneel down to plug in the tower for the plugs and get up without screaming in pain, so the capsules I am taking must be doing me or rather my knees, good.
More shifting stuff around this morning, DD2 is coming up this afternoon.

No post yesterday, I was exhausted when I got home from 'seeing' DB. It was not a good visit, they had given him some medication which had knocked him out. I was not happy, got a lot of drivel from a Dr, not heard anything today...... no eamil or phone call.
I have unpacked the last of the boxes I now have to sort out where everything is going. Have contacted the removers and asked them to collect the rest of the boxes on Friday, then I can get straight and sort out the bed.
Its very windy again today, blue sky and scudding clouds and thats it.
Cleaner was here this morning, her usual self, everywhere is nice and clean, washed the bed linen, its drying on the airer.
Think I will spoil myself with egg and chips for my supper, I had sweet and sour chicken last night.
DB was transferred to Oakham last night, this morning a message to say he was being taken to LRI as he had chest pain, how many times are we going to go through this I wonder?
Waiting for DD1 and GGS to arrive, life is very precarious just now, I cannot help wondering what the outcome is going to be. We have signed an agreement for 12 months, I could just about ride that but would have to use all the savings I have.......not a good place to be right now. Income would go down by 2/3rds even with the pension I would get from DB's work. If DB is forced to go into a home I would be even worse off!!
Will phone LRI later and see whats going on.
spent quite a bit of yesterday sorting out the bookcase and opening the remaining boxes in the 2nd bedroom, I want to get to the stage where I can move big bits of furniture around so I can start putting things away and get the machines up again.
Its a fine sunny morning, not sure how long it will last though, we had several very heavy showers yesterday, I had to empty the rain guuage 42mls of rain since we moved in 3 weeks ago!!
Visiting DB today, he has been moved again, nearer the main entrance, so I should be able to walk it.........he was offered a bed at Market Harborough, turned it down, too far for me to travel, I do not know Market Harboroough at all. So we are still waiting.
DD2 is coming tonight after work bringing a fish supper, so I do not need to worry about cooking tonight.
DD1 is due tomorrow with GGS, she is going to sort the curtains for me, I brought the sitting room curtians with me they are going in the bedroom, she will also hang the new ones in the sitting room, I think they may be a bit long but that will not matter, I can shorten them if needs be.
I managed just under 7 hours last night, at last. I was awake for over an hour, but then settled down to sleep again.
It was tipping it down with rain when I woke, everywhere very dark, it has cleared now, but still grey clouds scudding across the sky. At least I am not having to water pots, nature is doing it for me. I have one pot which was already here, I need to take off half the compost and fill it with fresh compost, I have some pansys which need to go in.
Spent an hour sorting the book case, not just how it was but have sorted out more books for the charity shop. DB will just have to put up with it. I am done fiddling. I will nip out later and de[osit the books and also get next weeks TV Choice from the shop on the next road.
Expecting a delivery shortly, just a small order, with DB not here I do not need too much. After lunch I am going to tackle a bit more of the sewing room, have more or less decided where things are going to go, I just need to find the mats excetra for the tables before I put the machines up. Will be putting stuff on the shelf units until everything is unpacked and I can stack crates etc, mostly I hope under tables.
Supper will be pot luck tonight.
3 hours sleep last night, its getting worse!!
The chap was here this morning just before 9am to fix the TV, all done ok, but we did not have the right ariel cable, tried in vain to get a converter, have ended up having to get another new cable........Chap also fitted the new stand for the TV, put up DB's parents wedding present picture and sorted the front door so it closes properly.
Did a quick hop, skip and a jump over to Hose for the coffee morning, everyone wanted to know a] how the move went and b] how DB was.
He apparently had a nast dizzy do this morning but managed to send me an email this afternoon.
Chap from age concern came to see what help they could give us. Have some new gadgets to play with. He offered me light bulbs but I told him I couls give him some, I have a drawer full.
The squally rain showers seem to have reached us, very dark andnwet this afternoon.
Need to get on with clearing the boxes in the bedroom tomorrow, try and sort out where things are going in the second bedroom.
No idea what I am going to have for supper, I might defrost a soda bread rill and fill it with cheese, tomato's and cucumber.
But we are still getting heavy showers. Still bad nights, woke about 9.20 this morning.
Went in to see DB, his legs have packed up again, he is having to be taken to the toilet etc. He was sitting out, had been since breakfast. He did have a vacant moment whilst I was there. I took him all clean clothes, brought his others home to wash.
I managed to get myself lost on the way home, took me a few minutes to sort out a route to get me back to where I should be.
I managed to get the sitting room TV sorted, hopefully the bedroom one will be up on the wall tomorrow and the sitting room one on its new stand.
Going back to see DB on Friday unless they have moved him by then.
Fingers crossed for batter nights sleep, last night was rubbish!!
The wind has blown consistently for the past few days, bright first thing but clouding over. We are getting heavy rain showers which last about 30 minutes then it clears to bright sunshine again.
Heard from DB eventually yesterday they had put his tablet out of reach, had to get someone to pass it to him, he has messaged this morning, he had a heavy cold.........I wonder which kind soul passed this on to him.
Still having horrendous nights, I have come off my painkillers, wonder if thats why..........
Bank balance has gone down with a whump this morning, monthly bills mostly come out of the account on 1st of the month, spend the rest of the monthly building it up again!!!
DD2 came yesterday with GGD and GS they stayed for an hour, E went round counting how many doors we have, she eventually came up with 10!!
Laundry in, will dry it in the second bedroom with the window open so it gets a bit of a breeze.
No idea what I am going to have for supper tonight, will have to see how the mood takes me.
