Another busy morning

carers came at 7.30 this morning, DB was still asleep, so I had to wake him up, need to tell the agency we do nat want a call before 8am.

I had an appointment to get my hearing tested, have new aids, need new bottom pieces to go in my ear, they will come through the post in a couple of weeks.

After sorting that out I had to drive into Melton to the estate agents to put the paper work in for the new apartment, we have to wait now whilst they check we can afford to live there and is we are suitable, not likely to trash the place etc, so fingers crossed everything comes back ok.

Had to leave DB, he was ok apparently he fell asleep....... so all was well.

Very windy, although the sun is shining, not so hot as it has been, much nicer, although it is supposed to get warmer towards the end of the week.

Egg and chips for supper tonight........DB may have a sponge pudding for dessert.

Busy morning

Collected Trevor as usual. DB told him about our move, he has started to sort out pots etc, emptied the strawberry containers and postted up some pots we are taking with us. Next week, he and I will tackle the garage and I will take the spare pots we have to QD to the pot exchange.

Its cooler today after the rain we had yesterday, apparently it rained during the night as well although I did not hear it. Another decent night 8+ hours.

I have the forms to try again to send them off, and also the holding deposit.

DB requested sausage and mash tonight, so thats what he has got. He had the remains of the leek and potato soup at lunch time with a round of bread. 

Rain

we woke to heavy rain this morning, its sort of fizzled out now and the sun is trying to break through. Its still rather muggy.

DB seems to be okish this morning, have had to have words about a few things, but hopefully he will stop his everlasting pressure.......he is reading the book I got him from the library just now. Will be watching the tennis later.

I have a couple of ding roast dinners for today...... that is the last of them, next week I will cook the large pork joint and slice it, I can use the meat for sarnies or roast dinners. I am going to empty the freezer in the garage so cleaner Clare can collect it. I also need her hausband to fill in the holes we made putting up the TV in our bedroom.

So roast lamb dinner today, DB has stawberries for dessert.

but a strong breeze. Continued problems with trying to sign paper work........will have another go tomorrow see what happens. DB was driving me mad wanting me to do things, was ready to chuck a bucket of water over him at one point. He keeps asking about things we have already discussed. Last night he had a nightmare about removing the picture hooks in the sitting room.........They are not on hooks, but pins, easy to get out. He woke me at 5pm moaning about them.

I managed to get to the library this morning 2 books for him and one for me.........

He is asleep just now, when he wakes up I am going to take him up the garden to see which pots I am taking and which are going to L across the road, to put on her drive. Its a very small patio we havej just enough room for a couple of chairs and a few pots. I have some small lavender plants I want to pot a couple up into a medium pot to take. Trevor will be here on Monday, I will get him to move the pots and aslo sort out the garage. The Round table people will be coming for some more stuff, I need to get it sorted into one place.

Supper tonight shepherds pie with carrots and sweetcorn.

Frustrated

Sun is out 24 at the moment....too hot. I am trying to sort out the paper work for the new flat, everything is on the internet and it would not let us sign the documents they sent through........DB keeps asking various things and is also driving me up the wall. I have enough on my plate without him wanting to know about sorting the garage!! Its 6 weeks before we move. 6 weeks today we should be watching the removal men bring our furniture in!!

Yesterday was spent mostly changing things and decided what to do with various bits and pieces. Again DB kept chawping in and distracting me. Also the techie has advised me to send the tablet back to Samsung, I rang their help line, ended up finishing the call, could not understand what the chap was on about. The call was intercepted and re-routed, possibly to India or some such. I am packing the tablet up and sending it by courier back to Samsung.

Tonight is fish and chip night, so I will be cooking fish and chips later.

 

The sun is back

This morning the sun was blaring out once again, the sitting room was hot, so curtains and blinds closed.

DB did very well yesterday, he is now walking with a stick, needs to get a bit more confident.......We went to look at a flat I had previously looked at whilst he was in hospital, it is a ground floor, with french windows and the car is parked right at the front of the french windows. DB managed to walk round and look and then sat in a chair whilst I talked business. There were other people waiting to view it, but this morning the agents rang to say we have to fill in the forms for the affordabilty check, they are going to email them to me.

So we will be moving from here on 14th August to take up our new home in Catherine Place, a MaCarthy and Stone development in Melton.

It has become obvious since we both had health issues that this bungalow was no longer a good fit.

So the plan is we sign for it 1st August and move in 15th........gives us time to move light stuff and clear the garden and finish getting rid of the excess in the bungalow. We are staying in the guest room overnight at the complex over night of 14th. I have the removers coming on Monday to give us an estimate. I am also going to get him to take the Fridge freezer to my daughter who wants it, the garage freezer is going to my cleaner. Just have a washer, dish washer and dryer to sort.

A couple from a charity in Melton came this morning and took a laod of gardening stuff from the garage, they are also taking the composter. I have to choose which pots I am going to take with us. I would like to take a camelia and a peony if I can. Will be sad to see most of my pots go.

Supper tonight cooked Gammon salad, mat be strawberries.

 

Thank Goodness

The sun is absent today, and a cooling breeze, we have been forecast rain. I got really hot yesterday, developed my heat rash which has gone down a bit over night, hopefully it is disappear today.

We have things going on just now, rather distracted.....will reveal later just what is happening.

DB has walked a short distance on his own this morning, I am going walk him out of the front porch door to see if I can get him into the car!!

Cooked a gammon joint this morning, will carve it when its cold, will be having gammon and salad tonight.
