Its going to be hot again

all through June, so it seems, up to 29c some days. Its sunny today, but there is quite a breeze, which is keeping it a bit cooler.

DB continues to be a complete pain, however the exercises do seem to be paying off, his legs appear to be a bit stronger. We have been battling with his gut problems again this week, things seem to be moving now though.

Terrible night last night, just 3 hours 20 minutes, so am really tired today. Still hauling DB to and from the toilet several times. I fell asleep and was rudely woken by a certain someone announcing he need to be taken to the toilet, end of Nana nap.

Frittata and salad for supper tonight, have some bacon to use up. We had home mede fish and chips last night.  

Dull start

It was raining first thing, but after lunch it brightened up and got quite a bit warmer.

We have decided that DB will nap in his chair after lunch, it cuts down the number of times I have to wheel hime in and out of the bedroom, just have to take him to the toilet and then through to bed at night. He is sleeping a lot, I have reason to believe he is depressed beacuse he cannot walk, I told him he needs to do the exercises he was given by the physio.

Grocery order this morning, all present and correct......3 days ding suppers + an emergency one, just in case.

Db has asked for stovies tonight, so need to peel the spuds and lightly fry off the onion. There is a lemon sponge pudding if he wants it for dessert.

Did not sleep so well last night, we were drinking tea at Midnight!! 

Fine now

but we had very heavy showers first thing this morning. DB is trying my patience quite a bit just now, wants to walk, even though he has been told not to........what do I do?????

Quiet day, nothing spoiling, have made scotch broth for lunch, it will do a couple of days at least, might freeze some, I have other stuff which needs eating up.

Nothing else to report, I slept over 8 hours last night, I am so exhausted pulling DB about I am crackered.

Mac and cheese with jacket spuds for supper tonight. 

Its raining

At last we have had rain, showers on Monday, but heavier this morning, the garden really needs it, Trevor had a job digging out weeds yesterday.

DB slept last night, I managed almost 8 hours which was good, carer here this morning, will be back shortly to put DB to bed for his afternoon nap.

Not so tired today, Monday is always a heavy day......I made leek and onion soup for luch, we finished off a pack of rolls from yesterday.

No plans to do anything today, except read. I need to have another check in my sewing room, there still seems to be a lot in there, I am sure some of it can go. The wheeled commode is in there except when it is needed.

Supper tonight sweet and sour chicken.........

 

I am tired

DB has been home since Friday, I am shattered, moving him is a challenge, its a case of pulling not pushing the chair, manouvering it in the bedroom is not fun.

Collected the gardener this morning, carer arrived just after I did, got him washed and into the sitting room, he finished off his breakfast. He has exercises to do twice a day, he has done them this morning.

Bank holiday here, everywhere is very quiet, its very windy. 

I need to do some mashed potato for a cottage pie we are having tonight with vegetables. The less said about yesterdays roast is best left unsaid.

Time to go and sort out the lunch, cooked gammon sarnies.......

A visitor

The community visitor came to see DB.  Nice lady who actually listened to what we both had to say. She took a history of what happened with DB and then she and I did a walk round the bungalow looking at various things. She is going to get a lever to help DB get out of bed, she is also sending me exercises to be done twice a day to try and strengthen DBs legs. In the meantime he is not to walk anywhere, she will come in 3 weeks to see how he has got on.

I asked about a light wheel chair so I can get him out, they only do heavy ones, so I need to contact the two businesses in the Town and see what they can come up with. It's not going to be easy as I need someone to sit with DB.

We had rain overnight but it's sunny now, it's going to be awkward collecting Trevor, but I will try and work something out.

We are having the first of the Sundays roasts from WFF, roast lamb, I have strawberries for dessert with some ice cream.

Home again

So DB would not have his afternoon siesta. DD2 brought fish and chips, after he had eaten he decided he needed to go to bed........ he slept from 6pm to 8am this morning, I woke him so he was awake for DD the carer who came to get him up. After he had his breakfast he put his chair back, since then apart from a toilet visit he has been asleep. I know he did not sleep well in hospital, he is making up for it now.

I bought him 2 pairs of joggers, decided to wash them to see if they shrink, will then turn them up, they are too long. All his shirts need to go, will get him a couple of new ones to wear with a tie, another pair of trousers are on their way with two polo shirts and a new summer jacket.

Whilst Db is sleeping I am keeping my feet up and resting as much as I can, let night I slept for just over 5 1/2 hours.

Supper tonight quiche, baby potato's and beans. I will do two of the roast dinners from the freezer tomorrow.
