Wedesday

shattered already. Load of laundry now on the line, grocery order put away, sorted out lunch, beef lasagne......no dessert. We finished off the strawberries from the garden this morning, there are more coming, the cotainres were so dry I put the hose on them before the sun moved round into the back.

It was 25c when I got up, the sun has disappeared but its still very hot.

DB is now walking to the toilet, just uses the chair to get up, he seems to be exhausted after he has eaten his breakfast, he slept for over an hour this morning.

I need to get up to the library, they have 2 books in for DB and I could do with a couple myself, will have to leave DB whilst I go, I also need to go to the PO for cash for the cleaner and gardener.

?Supper tonight will be rolls and fruit with ice cream. 

Oh Yuk

I have done a job this morning I should have done before. Shaved DB's head, he has not had his hair cut since just after I came out of hospital. Because he cannot bend the carers have been washing his head when they wash him. The patch of scale he had on his head has trasferred all over, so have had to find the betacap to treat it, it was horrible......

A very humid day, no read sun and only a slight breeze.

Egg salad for lunch today, will have a roll at tea time, carer will be here around 6pm. to get him ready for bed. He has managed to walk to the toilet with his walker this morning and also into the bedroom last night. The exercises seem to be working, but he needs to keep doing them twice a day. At least I no longer have to wheel him around in the chair!! That is a great relief. I do walk behind him though.

Busy day

Up early, DB's breakfast prepped before I went to collect Trevor. He managed to do quite a bit in the garden as well as watering. Cleaner here so sheets etc washed and on the line, its been very hot so they will be dried and aired by the time I get it in.

We had bacon and sausage rolls at lunch time,  finished off the cream tea DD2 brought for DB for tea late this afternoon.

I am shattered, its really hot, will be putting the fan in the bedroom to cool it down before we go to bed, I cannot sleep if I am too hot. 

Cooler

 It's a bit cooler today, more breeze and it keeps clouding over, 2 of the flowers on the peony have come out, the hosts have suffered either from the birds or slugs, I am going to pot them up and use a water bottle top over them to protect them a bit. There are a lot of pots I need to sort out to go to QD, They have a bin where you can put pots, people can take what they want.

It's Fathers Day today DD2 brought a cream tea, enough for today and also for DB'S birthday next week, although I doubt they will last that long!!

Rolls for lunch as we are having "tea" today.

DB is still sleeping quite a bit.......... how long this episode is going to last, I just do not know, just a case of sit it out.

A bit late getting up

did have a slightly better night, stayed in bed still DB's carer came, got the breakfast and then had a shower.

It was dull and grey first thing but it brightened up and the sun came out.

DD2 came with GGS at lunch time to bring DB a fathers day and birthday gift. GGS is certainly a big boy, he is just 6 months old and quite chunky, he is going to be quite tall I think. They stayed for an hour and then toddled off home.

DB has once again spent most of the day asleep, I keep hoping the next day will be a better one, but not so far. It is very wearing!!!

We had sweet and sour chicken for lunch, will have s nsck for supper.

An internet friend who lives in Northern France is moving to the south, they went on an exploration trip recently, put their house on the maket and sold it straight away.........so lucky, you can see houses advertised that have been on the market for 2 - 3 years and not sold. They are going to Aude which is cheaper than some of the areas, they are on a very strict budget, neither of them have ther old age pension as yet, they are living on privaye pensions from their jobs and she also runs a vlog on the internet which gives them a bit of extra income. I have to admit I am envious, we looked into the possibilty of living in Central France some years ago, but it did not work for us.

Warm and sunny

this morning, have an appointment at the pacemaker clinic at lunch time, a friend is coming to sit with DB and I have ordered a car to take me and bring me back.

DB continues to be either sleepy or dizzy, so life as normal.

 

Another

 sunny day, it was bright when I got up but its quite warm now, we still have a breeze which should keep the temerature down a bit, I have grawn the blinds on the front window to keep a bit of the heat out, later I will open a window.

DB is having several dizzies a day just now, he was a bit late getting up and dizzy when the carer brought him through, he had his breakfast and then went off again.

DGS and his partner called in this morning to see how he was, they will bring me the TV choice when they collect GGD from school.

I have picked more strawberries from the garden, if it does not rain tonight I will have to water them, they are doing really well in the troughs.

Lunch today chicken kiev, new potatoes and peas. I will do tuna rolls for supper tonight.

Sunny

and rather warm, although there is a breeze which is keeping it a bit cooler.

DB has been ok most of the day, we have started the new meal programme, eating at lunchtime.

Laundry out on the line, it will have dried and aired out there, will just need folding when I get  it in.

We will be having rolls this evening for supper. 

Bad start

DB had a vacant moment when the carer was getting him up this morning. We managed to get him into the glide chair and then into his relaxer chair, fortunately he surfaced before the carer left. He has had his breakfast but is now asleep. He is getting worse by the day, almost constant attacks of dizzyness. Not idea for either of us, especially if I need to go out for anything.

I really need to tell his sister, how he is, but she drives me nuts on the phone, its her birthday on Thursday, if DB is OK I will get him to ring her.

Sunny morning but the wind is quite strong again, the new sofa is coming today, so need to sort out the room where it is going to go. It will be good to have it back, the bucket chair is not easy to nap in!!

No idea what to have for supper. I have some sweet and sour pork, might do it with rice or with veg, will see what DB fancies when he eventually wakes up. 

Sunny morning

Busy day, was out just after 8am to collect Trevor. DB's carer came just as I was going out the door.

Chap came to sort the door handle, he ended up getting a new one. Next door neighbour came round with a bit of plant from her ga4den, she wanted to know what it was - loosestrife or Lysimachia to give it its proper name. Was just sorting the lunch when the chap from the National Grid came to check our meter installation.

Took Trevor home, exhausted when I got back, wish I could have a Nana nap but no settee, so will have to pull myself together. Carer is coming just after 6pm tonight, so egg and chips for supper..... 

Brrr again

We did have some sun today, but it has been very windy and now its very cold. I did manage to get some laundry dry on the whirly outside.

We had another disappointing roast dinner from WFF, meat was ok but the  veg was not. DB had a lemon pudding for dessert. I am going to have to go back to cooking one myself.

DB has had another bad day, spent most of it asleep. I have been reading, almost finished another book on my tablet.

Need to collect the gardener tomorrow, the window cleaner is coming so have jahd to send him a message, I have to open the gate so he can get round the back.

So its almost time for bed..........night  night.

Brrrr

Very cold and grey this morning, I managed 8 hrs 50 min last night, I was exhausted.........DB is having a bad morning.......whats new?????

My complaint was sorted yesterday, the Hart team carer came last night and told us that our old carers were returning this morning....wonderful!!! WE were so plased, carer came just after 8.30 and got DB up, I got the breakfast. Went for a shower a bit later, so now ready for what the day throws at me!!

DD2 came last night, the fish supper had gone up by £1.20. Another rise and I will be stopping it, although 3 of us do eat it, so proportionally its not too bad, just makes a hole in the housekeeping.

Nothing planned for today, looks like DB is going to sleep the day away, so will have to find something to do near at hand.

No idea about supper, maybe something with salad...will have to do a freezer dive.

Arggghh

after yesterday fiasco I asked if we could get an early call to get DB up. A carer  came last night and shouted at me for 10 minutes about why we cannot pick and choose when the carers come........it was a request.....I did not ask to be shouted at for 10 minutes!! I have put in a request to speak to the person in charge.........rang at 9am, still waiting its now 10.30pm.

Carer came this morning just after 9am, helped DB to wash and dress, do not think she stopped talking from the minute she came in...... she actually told me what to do to report last nights debackle.

I have to go down to the council offices today and put in the paperwork they want for our claim. To be honest I am expecting it to be turned down. I know we are entitled to some relief, but knowing the council, they will try to find a way to deny it.

DD2 will be here tonight with our fish and chip supper........she was ill last week so I had to sort out some frozen fish and do a home made effort.

We are having heavy rain storms, rains heavily and then the sun comes out. We do need the rain for the garden.
 

Another chaotic day

 Up just after 7am, good job too the chaps came for the settee just after 8am.  I am using the bucket chair, feels strange without the settee. New settee will be here on Tuesday next. Waiting for car to be collected for service, the girl arrived just after 10.30am, I was still left waiting for the carer to come and get DB up. Finally at 11.45 I had to take him to the toilet, so washed and dressed him, the carer turned up at 12.15.......no good to man nor beast. I have asked for an earlier call, waiting to hear if they are going to sort it. The carer came last night about 6.45 pm which was fine. Got DB changed and then went. I really do not know why they have changed us over..........The car arrived back after is service just after 3pm. Apparently one of the seat belts in the back is faulty, it needs replacing, but the car is under warrenty unil July, so that will be sorted when it goes for its MOT and at no cost to me.

Tonight we are having a ding dinner I have cooked every night this week, and DD2 will be here tomorrow with fish and chips.

No post today, have been busy sorting out removal of the chest, moving DBs chair, and coping with several phone calls. Also someone from the Council came to see DB. Will post tomorrow.

Blowing a hoolie

the wind is going daft today, we woke to rain which slashed down until lunchtime, then it cleared and the sun came out, but the wind was something else.
After a busy day yesterday, today has been a bit quieter. I managed to empty the wooden chest, found places for most of the stuff, still hunting for somewhere to put the table mats. The chest is being collected tomorrow.......then I have to sort out the settee , which is being collected on Thursday, in the meantime once the chest has gone I need to re-arrange DB's chair which will be pushed further back, to allow for more room for me to move him around. I am developing large arm muscles from moving him.......

Cooked belly pork casserole for tonight with pilau rice, our neighbour brought in some fruit last night, I used our strwbeeies in this mornings cereal, so will use the ones she bought with some ice cream tonight for dessert.

I heared last night our new settee will arrive next week so I will be sitting on a bucket chair for the next few days.

I have some casual trousers for FB that need turning up, cannot get to the machine to do them as yet......

Its Monday again.

 Went off to collect Trevor for his weekly stint in the garden, grass cutting today along with some shrub trimming and weeding.

Yesterday was an iffy day. DB maoning he felt sick etc etc, I realised this morning he had not taken one of his doses of his medication.

Cleaner was also here, became heir to several things as I was clearing out the big chest ready to go and also had a bag of DB's clothes for the charity shop. I am shattered, Monday is always a busy day.

My right knee was wonderful yesterday, this morning hell on earth and has continued to be all day. No idea why, medication etc all taken as and when.

Children back at school, so road full of cars dropping kids off for school. Fortunately it was ok when I got back from takning Trevor home.

Bed changed, I put the quilt cover in the dryer, I have the pillow cases and sheet on the airer in the porch. Will have a load to do tomorrow which will go on the whirly to dry.

Supper is sausage, mash and beans. Trevor picked some strawberries from the growing troughs, so we will have them with ice cream for dessert.
