Time for an update

Life has been very much the same one way or another, not much to report just carrying on from day to day. We did go to the coffee morning at Hose the first Wednesday of April. DB is slightly better just now, dizzies are not lasting as long, he has not had any absence seizures for quite a while. I changed the tea time carers visit to an evening call to get him ready for bed, much better we have time to eat without expecting the door to go. They come between 7.30 to 8.30pm and around 9am in the morning.

Easter was very quiet for us, spent the day much as usual.

DD1 and DSIL came over to pick up some bits for their new house, they have been busy since they got back from their cruise, I think they have only the bathroom and kitchen to do now. The sitting room was finished and the new carpet put down last week. They have also had some trees cut down and work done on the roof and chimney.

DD2 came on Friday, brought Emillio and fish and chips. My old Ninja decided it was time for it to retire, so I bought a new smaller one. DD2 had the same 15 - 1 that I had so passed on the stainless steel inner pot and the air crisper etc, so she has a set of spares. I cokked soup and a stew in the new one, today it will be tried out cooking roast potatoes in the air crisper.

I have been having some problems with my tablet, got a rogue email, have managed to get rid of that but now have a different problem, plus DB keeps asking me how to do things on his tablet. Why did I teach him to use the internet??????????

We have had some lovely sunny days, quite warm too, we are now back to rain showers and blustery cold wind. I cut off the dead daffodil and tulip heads, will be digging them up and drying them off ready for planting in the autumn. The 5 hydrangea cuttings I struck last year have come up and showing signs of flowering. Both peonies have pushed their heads up. I need to get out and get rid of the weeds that are growing up as well.

I knitted 2 jumpers for the two boys, hated them so pulled them back and have almost finished knitting a different pattern. Should finish them this week.

Foot lady came last Wednesday so feet nice and comfy again. We are due a visit from the surgery to fill out new respect forms and also next week booster injections for Covid. We get them twice a year.

I am still suffering from sleepness nights, I have panda rings round my eyes. Lucky if I get 7 hours sleep twice a week.

Supper tonight roast chicken, roast spuds, carrots and peas. I have 2 raspberry trifles for dessert.

  1. It's good to see an update from you as I was getting worried. Good to know DB seems to be improving with those more brief dizzy episodes and the disappearance of the absence spells. Now if he could just remember the ins and outs of the internet!
I certainly wish you better sleep every night and wonder if any of your meds has a side effect of wakeful nights. AMIL finally took restless leg medicine because her restless legs began to really hurt, and that was the last of her sleeping at night. She took that med for only a week but the side effect lingered for the rest of her life.
Am glad you two continue to enjoy the coffee mornings in Hose and that you've got the carers coming on a more convenient schedule.
It's good the hear that your daughters are still keeping up with you and hope the new house is a delight for DD1 and DSIL.
Nice that DD2 and little Emilio visit with fish and chips!
We're okay. Rob took a chance on having beef in soup and was sick all day yesterday. No beef for us but he was bold or foolish!
I'm nearly finished with machine quilting Skylines for DS2's 42nd birthday on Tuesday. It might not be bound by then, but he'll understand.
The baby quilt and doll quilts arrived at their destination to the delight of the parents and big sister. Little sister was too young to be very thrilled.
We're in for a hot week ahead with highs around 36*C.

    Hugs!
